Beer gardens and folk festivals, artists' bars and upper-middle-class patronage have made Munich the home of writers and poets since the 19th century. Georg Reichlmayrcomes from Dachau, studied German literature and history in Munich and worked at the Institute for Medieval History. He was trained as a tour guide and has been working as a freelance tour guide since autumn 1999. He is a member of the federal board of tour guides in Germany. Publications about Munich as well as about Ludwig II and Richard Wagner.
